There are many awesome and powerful opportunities available through both Blessed Sacrament Church and the Diocese of Rapid City, for youth to connect with others and strengthen their relationship with God. Youth events and deadlines coming up:
World Youth Day, August 9-22, 2011, Madrid, Spain
Fr. Tyler Dennis at Cathedral has graciously offered to host two World Youth Day Informational Meetings for youth and their parents. They will be held on Monday, February 22nd in the Cathedral Hall and at 6:30pm and Thursday, March 4th at 6:30pm in the large meeting room. Both Fr. Tyler and Provatia Potvin, the Diocesan Youth Coordinator, will be there to cover all the areas of World Youth Day –application, fundraising, itinerary, pictures & video of previous WYD’s, etc. Youth who will be 18 years old by August of 2011 up to 35 years are eligible to attend World Youth Day.

Life Teen is the religious education program for high school students. We meet on Wednesday nights at 7pm in the theater. The topic of the semester is The Sacraments.

Challenge
The Black Hills Challenge Club meets every Thursday night starting October 1, 2009 at 6:45pm in the youth room. Challenge is designed to help adolescent girls go out into the world as strong and authentic Catholic role models where they can make a positive impact. Challenge’s recipe for success is based on the combination of doing apostolic work and formation. Holy Grounds
Holy Grounds is a social and casual event for high school students to meet, share ideas, bring questions, and participate in discussions about Catholicism. Local priests, deacons, and lay ministers facilitate discussions on topics chosen by students. Contact Jenny if you are interested in checking out this new youth event.
